Investigators make arrests, recover stolen vehicle

Officials with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department arrested a man and recovered a stolen vehicle, announced Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields in a news statement on Monday.

Fields said the department received a report of a stolen vehicle from a home in Carthage on Sept. 20.

A week later on Sept. 27, investigators recovered the vehicle and arrested Codie Williams, 31, of Seagrove.

Williams was charged with one count of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and was committed to the Moore County Detention Center by Magistrate Russell under a $2,500 secured bond pending a first court appearance in Moore County District Court on Wednesday, October 26.

Sheriff’s investigators have also obtained a warrant for the arrest of Roger Davis Jr., 36, of Biscoe, in connection with the stolen motor vehicle.

Anyone with information about Davis is requested to contact the Moore County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 910-947-4444.

Defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
