Man airlifted after flipping truck

A man was airlifted to a hospital Saturday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident in Jackson Springs on Jackson Springs Road near N.C. Highway 73.

North Carolina Highway Patrol says the man was traveling eastbound on Jackson Springs Road toward Foxfire when he went off the right side of the road around a curve. The driver overcorrected sending him across the centerline. The truck he was driving went off the road and flipped sideways in a ditch before hitting several trees.

First responders were able to get the man out of the truck, and he was airlifted to a hospital for serious injuries.

According to troopers, speed was a factor in the crash. More charges are possible as the investigation continues.

Responding to the scene were West End Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and MedCenter Air.
