Pinehurst Police responded to a stabbing Wednesday morning at 20 Page Drive at Pinehurst Comprehensive Treatment Center.

Two individuals were arguing inside the opioid use disorder treatment facility, according to authorities. They went outside into the parking lot, and the victim got into his car to leave.

When he tried to leave, police said the assailant pulled a knife and stabbed the victim while he was sitting in the car. The victim suffered several knife wounds.

The assailant immediately fled the scene. There were a number of people that witnessed the attack, and the staff called 911.

The victim was transported by EMS to Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and later released.

The assailant returned to the center the next day for treatment and was arrested.

Glen Allen Harris, IV, age 25, of Hamlet, is in the Moore County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond. He has been charged by Pinehurst Police with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Harris is a convicted felon having served time for discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, assault on an officer and resisting an officer. He was just released from parole on July 4, 2019.

Harris has his first court appearance on August 29 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
