Man arrested for felony child solicitation by computer

A 20-year-old man from Willow Springs, North Carolina was placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond issued by Moore County Magistrate Riyevski after being arrested on charges of felony soliciting a child by computer, felonious restraint, felony second degree kidnapping, and felony indecent liberties with a child.

According to a statement by Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields, Ethan Fenerty was arrested on Friday.

Fields said Fenerty was found in his car with two children at Vass Park by the Vass Police Department. Carthage Police Department assisted in the investigation. Fields said the minors were ages 12 and 14 from the sheriff’s office jurisdiction in Vass.

“Sheriff’s Investigators responded and determined that the adult male had met the two female juveniles through an online dating app,” said Fields. “The adult subsequently picked the minors up near their residence and transported them to Vass Park in his vehicle without the knowledge of their parents.”

The suspect is due in court on Oct. 26 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
