Authorities were dispatched to a shooting at Pine City Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue in Southern Pines Tuesday morning.
Law enforcement reports the 26-year-old man was shot in the leg shortly after 11:00 am after the suspect pushed the victim down. The victim was taken to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries according to emergency responders.
Soup & More and Blendz Barber shop, who are in Pine City Plaza, were open when the shooting occurred; however, no one else was hurt.
Southern Pines Police Department, Moore County EMS, and Southern Pines Fire & Rescue responded to the scene.
