McCall Farms Country Club of North Carolina food distribution

The Country Club of North Carolina has coordinated with McCall Farms to donate a large pallet of the company’s brands of canned food to golf course and hospitality workers in the Sandhills who have had reduced incomes or have been furloughed because of financial concerns due to COVID-19.

Through a CCNC member friendship with owner Henry Swink of McCall Farms, a pallet of canned food will be organized and distributed.

“CCNC is very grateful to Henry Swink and McCall Farms for their generous donation to help those in need during our current situation,” said CCNC Chief Operating Officer Don Hunter.

Each pallet of food includes approximately 4,400 cans of McCalls’ brands such as Poppy’s, Allen’s, Bruce’s Yams, Fresh-all, Margaret Holmes, Glory and Princella. The first step of the distribution plan calls for CCNC to sort and organize bags of this food to distribute to employees.

Following, the remainder of the food will be offered to churches and other local organizations, which can more easily share it throughout the community.
