Moore County Schools is seeking input on naming the Union Pines High School auditorium stage after the school’s theater arts teacher after receiving request from students and community members to name the stage in honor of Judy Osborne.

Parents, students, faculty, staff, stakeholders, and others may take an online survey on whether they support naming the stage as “Judy Osborne Stage”, announced the school district Tuesday on Facebook.

Osborne has worked at Union Pines High School for 29 years.

“Mrs. Osborne’s service to Moore County Schools, particularly Union Pines High School, warrants further study of community support for this request,” said Moore County Schools.

The results of the survey will be read to the Moore County School Board on June 3. If there is enough community support, Superintendent Dr. Bob Grimesey will provide his formal recommendation.

The online portal will be open through May 20 at 5 p.m.
