Event to Take Place at R.Riveter in Southern Pines to Kickoff Military Ticket Sales

The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced the military ticket policy for the 2019 U.S. Senior Women’s Open and U.S. Amateur, welcoming members of the armed services to experience two of the summer’s most exciting national championships.

Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines will host the 2nd U.S. Senior Women’s Open from May 16-19 and the 119th U.S Amateur will be contested at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst from Aug 12-17.

“We are honored to welcome the brave men and women of our armed services and their guests to the 2019 U.S. Senior Women’s Open and U.S. Amateur,” says USGA Senior Managing Director of Championships John Bodenhamer. “This is a small token of appreciation for those who serve and have served in our armed forces. We are thankful for their service every day.”

This spring and summer, active and retired military, as well as veterans, will receive a complimentary gallery ticket and one guest gallery ticket for each day of both USGA championships thanks to the support of R.Riveter and The Heritage Flag Company.

At the U.S. Senior Women’s Open, gallery tickets include access to The Bell Pavilion, where fans can enjoy upgraded food & beverage for purchase and first-come, first-served seating.

Gallery tickets at the U.S. Amateur will provide access to the grounds of Pinehurst No. 2 and/or No. 4. Complimentary general parking and transportation to and from the championship is also provided with Gallery tickets at both championships.

These special military tickets are available courtesy of R.Riveter, a handbag company founded by two military wives, and The Heritage Flag Company, the creators of beautiful American Flag-inspired wooden art pieces. Both companies are located in downtown Southern Pines and will have tickets available to pick up in stores. Tickets will also be available at Will Call onsite at each championship.

Those who are in the Sandhills area are encouraged to celebrate the game of golf, purchase tickets and shop for premier items this Friday at “First Friday” from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET at R.Riveter, located at 154 NW Broad Street, Southern Pines.  “First Friday” is a monthly community event in Southern Pines that features live music, entertainment, food and beverage.

“R.Riveter is proud to partner with our friends at the USGA and The Heritage Flag Company to honor our military community during the U.S. Senior Women’s Open and U.S. Amateur,” said Cameron Cruse, co-founder of R.Riveter. “As a company whose heart lies at the core of our military community, it’s truly an honor to play a part in gifting such an exciting experience to our service members and their families. Whether you’re an avid golf enthusiast or have never picked up a club, everyone can enjoy the sport and atmosphere at these two incredible events.”

The military ticket policy covers all branches of service including Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, the National Guard and Reserves.

“The Heritage Flag Company could not be more excited to partner with the USGA and R.Riveter for the U.S. Senior Women’s Open and U.S. Amateur to honor and say thank you to the military men, women and their families who serve our country,” said Heath Trigg of The Heritage Flag Company. “Our plans for the championship are centered around those who serve, their families, some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world and having fun. Let us never forget the sacrifices of so many and always take the time to say thanks.”
