For a moment in time, people stopped looking down at their phones and instead looked up into the sky as the moon had its day in the sun.  The first coast to coast total solar eclipse in 99 years was the greatest show on earth.  Its band was 70 miles wide and stretched across 14 states from Oregon to South Carolina.

The O’Neal Middle School bused to Camp Bob Cooper near Summerton, SC to witness the celestial performance while many folks decided not to travel and joined the crowd at the First Bank Stage at the Sunrise.  Many Moore County workers couldn’t take the day off, so they grabbed a quick gaze in their parking lots.

The next act will take place on April 8th, 2024, from Texas to Maine, so save your glasses for nature’s next beautiful display.
