A Moore County man was arrested Monday for allegedly kidnapping a teenage girl from a group home, according to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a report of the missing girl from American Children’s Home in Lexington on February 16.

Davidson County Sheriff’s Office began searching for the teen and put out an Amber Alert. With the help of Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation, 15-year-old Kayla Carlson was found in a motel in Aberdeen on Monday.

Arrest warrants were issued for Christopher Boles, 36, after authorities found Carlson at the motel. He was charged with one count of abduction of a child and one count of first-degree kidnapping.

A news release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said Boles was communicating online with Carlson via a school-issued laptop before she was taken from the home.

Boles was turned over to Davidson County Sheriff’s Office. He was placed under a $1 million secure bond and a $2,000 secure bond for heroin and marijuana charges. He has a Lexington District Court date on March 29 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This is a developing story and will be updated when new information becomes available.
