The Town of Southern Pines celebrated Autumn’s arrival with their annual festival at the Downtown Park. Despite intermittent clouds and rain, Autumnfest had a great turnout.
Autumnfest is presented every year by the Arts Council of Moore County and the Southern Pines Recreation & Parks Department since 1978. Saturday’s event took place at the recently renovated Downtown Park which boasts a new picnic shelter, a large and improved playground, and an expanded area for vendor booths.
There was plenty to do for everyone. Live music to entertain one’s ear and funnel cakes to BBQ turkey legs to delight one’s taste buds. There were sword fights to keep the kids busy along with trick or treat bag decorating. A fun day was had by all.
