Special Olympics Moore County is pleased to announce it has received a $1500.00 grant from the Central Electric Member Care Trust.

The Operation Round Up® grant funds are powered by voluntary donations from Central Electric members and helped to support local athletes

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Special Olympics aims to combine high-quality sports with a wide audience and be a driving force for social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

“The generous support received from Central Electric members has given our athletes a chance to compete in the NC Fall Tournament held in Charlotte,” stated Donna Page, Moore County Co-Coordinator.
