A traffic accident Thursday morning in Southern Pines shut down two lanes of Morganton Road and sent one person to the hospital.
Emergency units were dispatched to the two-vehicle accident on Morganton Road at the intersection with Brucewood Road just after 8 a.m.
They arrived on the scene to find a Ford F-250 pickup truck had collided with a Toyota Camry. Both vehicles had extensive damage.
One lane on each side of Morganton Road was closed while crews worked the scene.
One patient was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and another was checked out at the scene.
Responding to the scene were Southern Pines Fire Department, Southern Pines Police Department and Moore County EMS.
