Motorcycle accident sends one to hospital

A collision between a Toyota Highlander and a motorcycle Thursday afternoon sent a male motorcyclist to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred in front of Bibey’s Automotive Service on Highway 24/27 in Carthage. The single female occupant of the Toyota was not injured.

Both the motorcycle and the vehicle ended up at the entrance of the Automotive Service Center parking lot allowing both lanes of traffic to remain open. Life flight was initially called but then canceled.

There was minor damage to the front end of the Toyota and damage to both the front and side of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. The cause of the accident was still being investigated, but law enforcement on the scene stated that there was an eyewitness.

Responding to the accident was Carthage Police, Carthage Fire Department, and Moore County EMS.
