Aberdeen Panera Bread patrons will have to drive two blocks north on U.S. Highway 15-501 at the beginning of February as the new restaurant is scheduled to open then.

As of now, the Aberdeen location is scheduled to close Feb. 10.

The new Southern Pines location at 10862 Highway 15-501, across from Lowes, will feature a drive-thru, outside dining, and is scheduled to open Feb. 12.

Panera Bread is a “counter-serve bakery/cafe chain serving sandwiches, salads and more and is known for its bread and free WiFi.”

A Panera Bread spokesperson at the corporate office told Sandhills Sentinel in an email there will be a handful of promotions surrounding the opening.

The first 100 guests in the door on opening day will receive a certificate for a Free You Pick Two for a year;

The first 100 guests that register for the My Panera Loyalty Program will receive a Panera-branded stainless steel tumbler; and

During opening week, while supplies last, every guest that goes through the drive-thru will receive a surprise. Offerings include a mystery gift card, a coupon for free pastry or beverage, or a cookie.

Hours are Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. – 9:30 p.m., Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
