No serious injuries after Pinebluff accident

No serious injuries were reported in an accident in Pinebluff Saturday evening. The accident happened at the intersection with U.S. Highway 1 South and Thunder Road.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a Nissan Altima crossing U.S. Highway 1 from Addor Road failed to stop for oncoming traffic and was struck by a Jeep Wrangler that was heading south on U.S. 1.

No serious injuries in Pinebluff accident

The impact caused heavy damage to the Nissan Altima and sent it off the road into an embankment. The Jeep had some damage to the front bumper and quarter panel.

None of the occupants of the Jeep, including a small child that was in a car seat, were injured in the accident. The driver of the Altima was up and walking around but later transported by EMS to the hospital for minor injuries.

Highway patrol was on the scene and investigating the accident.

Responding to the scene were Pinebluff Fire and Rescue, Aberdeen Fire and Rescue, Moore County EMS, and the Highway Patrol.
