A two-vehicle accident on Roseland Road Thursday evening left a dozen people, including children, being examined by EMS. No serious injuries were reported.

The accident occurred at 9:25 p.m. at the intersection of Roseland Road and Batchelor Farm Road, just outside Aberdeen. The accident involved a Papa John’s Pizza delivery vehicle and a Ford Expedition. The SUV contained seven children.

The call initially came in to authorities as a multiple car accident involving 12-14 people. As first responders arrived on the scene, they found three vehicles off the road, and two of the cars had extensive damage.  They then determined that one vehicle had driven off the road to assist with the accident.

The delivery driver and one person from the SUV were taken to Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Neither was believed to be seriously injured.

The intersection of Roseland Road and Batchelor Farm Road were completely shut down while emergency crews worked.

The NC Highway Patrol was on the scene and is investigating the cause of the accident.

Responding to the scene were Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Aberdeen Police Department, Moore County Sheriff’s Department, and the NC Highway Patrol.
