Mrs. Cynthia Dawn Gass of Pinehurst passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 67.

Cynthia was born in Robeson County on June 21, 1950 to the late Bernard Shaw Carver and Kathleen McRae Carver. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her friends and family, as well as a good cup of coffee. Cynthia was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Southern Pines. Her love for people was evident by her actions. She enjoyed volunteering at the FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital and doing what she could for her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Gerald Gass.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon C. Hales and her husband, Jerry of Pinehurst, her niece, Kim Hales of Cary; her nephew, Brandon Hales and his wife, Colleen of Winterville; and other close relatives.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 1517 Luther Way, Southern Pines, NC 28387.

Funeral Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. the same day in the church sanctuary with Pastor Linn Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs.
