Evangeline Collins Maloubier, age 95, passed away on January 12, 2018 at Kingswood Nursing Home.

Born on March 16, 1922 in Winona Lake, Indiana to Harry F. and Elsie Bahney Collins, she grew up in New Paris, Indiana and graduated from the high school there. She went on to study music at Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She then pursued an extensive singing career which included performing with the USO, in nightclubs, on cruise ships, and as part of the original cast of the King and I on Broadway in New York City. She also sang all over the world to include Paris, Casablanca, Canada, and various other countries in Europe and around the Mediterranean. She later became a music therapist in nursing homes in both New York and North Carolina. She was a member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jacques Pierre Maloubier, her parents, brother, Galen Collins, and sisters, Lenora Peckinpaugh and Marjanna Erwin.

She is survived by her sons, Jacques Maloubier and wife Patricia of Tarrytown, NY and Robert Maloubier of Southern Pines, NC; sisters, Donnabelle Boughton of Salisbury, NC and Rosalyn Lamb of Burwell, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Pinelawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.
