Alfred (Al) Lindsay Klingenschmidt, 64, of Vass, NC passed away in his home on August 24, 2019. He was born June 24th, 1955 in Moore County, NC to the late Henry and Ruth Klingenschmidt.
Al was a graduate of Union Pines High School and obtained his Bachelor of Physical Science from Appalachian State University in 1977. He was an accomplished athlete and played football all through high school, as well as in college. Al called Moore County home for all his life. He was a very talented carpenter and skilled craftsman, and his handiwork can be found in homes and landmarks throughout the community. He cherished his time with friends and family, and nothing made him happier than a NC State (or App State) win.
He is survived by his sisters, Carol Damone of Southern Pines and Sandra Pagani (husband Paul) of Vass, and nephews Peter Pagani of Norfolk, VA., and Daryl Damone (wife Holly) of Ayden, and niece Amy Damone-Hammac (husband Mac) of Southern pines, and two great nephews, Michael and Hunter Dickens of Ayden.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 1:00PM-2:00 PM at Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, NC 28387, with a graveside service to follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery at 3:00PM, 300 Johnson Grove Road, Vass, NC 28394.
