Obituary for Alice Campbell Oakley of Cameron

Alice Campbell Oakley, age 80, of Cameron, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A Going Home Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 3:00pm at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom Everett and Lewis Ring officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2 until 3. Burial will follow at House of the Lord Cemetery in Cameron.

Alice was born in Moore County on July 25, 1942 to the late Claude Carson Campbell and Dora Von Williamson Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Oakley , sisters, Shirley Blackman and Lois Ring, brothers, Albert, John, Ervin, Jimmy, Marvin, Carl, Paul and Howard.

Alice was fully and selflessly devoted to her family. She was an amazing cook and meticulous keeper of the home in addition to working a full time job outside the home for many years. She loved to sing praises to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Being deeply rooted in the Word of God, she believed in doing all things well and in accordance with the standards of God’s Word. It is a certainty that she has now stood before the very loving GOD she served all her life and heard these words from Matthew 25:21 “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord.”

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Oakley (Melissa) of Cameron, Anita Jones (Steve) of Carthage, Pamela Russell (Gene) of Cameron and David Oakley (Blanca) of Cameron; sister-in-law, Brenda Campbell of Cameron, Ruth Ross Campbell of Cameron, Lucille Campbell also of Cameron; grandchildren, Maegan Lea (Josh), Katie Sharp (Ryan), Jonathan Russell (Gena), Jennifer Cole (Justin), Sara Russell Blalock (Jared), Rebecca Ragsdale, James Ragsdale (Sidney), Brandon Oakley (Kathryn), Robert James Oakley, Stephen Oakley, Emma Oakley and Stephanie Jones; great-grandchildren, Padraig Sharp, Kinsley Sharp, Everett Sharp, Ava Cole, Ashlyn Cole, Porter Cole, Langston Ragsdale, Harrison Ragsdale Vera Russell, Fletcher Russell, Eloise Lea, Mabel Lea, Jude Bibey, Lane Blalock, Aiden Edwards and Sophia Edwards.

In Lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Memory of Alice Oakley to House of the Lord in Cameron.
