Amy Jo Lancaster McDonald, 53, a lifelong resident of Moore County, passed peacefully at her home on the morning of Sunday, January 27th due to frontotemporal dementia.

A committal service honoring her life will be held 2/2/2019 at 1pm, gathering at the cemetery of McDonalds Chapel, 1374 Foxfire Rd., Aberdeen.

Amy was born in October of 1965 to Martha Currie Lancaster and the late Edward Junior Lancaster. She graduated from Pinecrest High School, class of 1983. In 1985, Amy married David McDonald and together they started raising a family. She went to St. Andrews College in Laurinburg where she earned her Bachelor’s’ Degree after starting college at UNCG. Amy took joy in raising her family and later worked as a Church Administrator for West End Presbyterian Church and also Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church.

A loving mother and devoted wife, Amy is survived by her husband David McDonald and their children: Katherine “Katey” Lyndsey McDonald-Coxen, husband Chris, Margaret “Magey” Maie McDonald, and Duncan Franklin McDonald. She is also survived by her mother Martha Lancaster, brother Ken Lancaster, and sister-in-law Jayne Cummings, husband David. She was the aunt of Jordan, Brendan, and Elayne.
