Sgt. Arthur Lewis Betts, U.S. Army Retired, age 86, of Broadway, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Liberty Commons Nursing & Rehab Center in Sanford, surrounded by his family.

Arthur was born in Junction City, Kansas on December 27, 1932 to the late William Gordon Betts and Audrey Fair Scott. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Alberta Griffiths and sons, Scott Thomas Betts, Dale Eugene Betts and brother, Richard Scott. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the U.S. Army. Upon retiring for the U.S. Army he took a job with the Civil Service in Fort Bragg. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children, Victoria Lynn  Young (James) of Broadway, John Andrew Betts of Parkton and Christopher Robert Betts of Illinois; brother, Robert Scott; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
