Betty Hill Causey, 87, of Aberdeen, passed away at the Liberty Commons in Sanford, Sunday, December 1st.

Betty was born in Mount Airy on March 19, 1932.  At the age of 4, her family moved to Laurinburg where she attended school, graduating from Laurinburg High School, class of 1950.  On January 14, 1951, Betty married Joseph Lincoln Causey and moved to Aberdeen.  She had her own sewing business until Oct. 5, 1987.  She started working for Belks of Southern Pines as a Manager of Alterations, until her retirement in 1998.  Betty enjoyed sewing, painting and making crafts for the church bazaar.  She also enjoyed working in the garden and had been a member of Page United Methodist Church of Aberdeen since 1953.

Betty was the wife of the late Joseph Lincoln Causey.  She was the mother of Donald Harrison Causey and Joseph Michael Causey. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, 3 step – grandchildren and 1 granddaughter.  Betty was the sister of June Peele. She is preceded in death by her parents Charlie Harrison Hill and Minnie May Hill; daughter Barbara Hildreth; and sisters Treva Smith, Opal Clark and Polly Henry.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Boles Funeral Home, 425 W. Pennsylvania Ave. Southern Pines on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Bethesda Cemetery, Aberdeen, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m.
