Obituary, Bobby Pusser

Bobby Reid Pusser, 71, was called home by the Lord as he slept in his home on Monday, March 16, 2020.

Born on September 20, 1948 in Pinehurst, NC to the late Herman and Ruby Pusser.

Bobby loved the Lord and was generous to his friends, neighbors and anyone he encountered.  He may drop in to deliver a box of tomatoes, fresh-made pie or a load of firewood.  He spent 36 years working at Stanley Furniture in West End.  Through hard work and a knack for organizing a workforce of varying sizes and personalities to accomplish any task, he climbed the ranks to be Plant Superintendent.  In his second career, Bobby also enjoyed building custom cabinets with his son Bobby Joseph.  He also used his supervising skills to assemble a team of family and friends to gather and can or freeze a summer garden harvest.   As the baby of 13 children, he was accustomed to having lots of family around and enjoyed it throughout his life.  In particular he relished Christmas where he could spend time with and give generously to those he loved. He was loved by many and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Mildred Pack Pusser; three children, J. Dawn Pusser Collison (Brad) and Patrick Reid Pusser (Christy), Bobby Joseph Pusser (Lauren); brother, Larry Pusser (Dayle) of Eagle Springs; four sisters, Pat Saunders (Dewey) of West End; Peggy Smith (the late Robert) of West End; Sarah Britt (the late Tom) of Fairmont, NC; and Frances Lewis (Tom) of Palm City, FL; seven grandchildren, Corrine Collison, Chance Collison, Caleb Collison; Carson Pusser, Lucas Reid Pusser, Sophia Pusser; Michael Reid Pusser, Zachary Andrews; also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
