Obituary for Christopher Len Kelly

Christopher Len Kelly, 45, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  Chris was born on March 11, 1976, in Moore County and graduated from Union Pines High School in 1994.  He immediately enlisted in the US Army, training at Fort Benning, Georgia.  Upon completion of boot camp, he was assigned to Fort Hood, Texas.  He was honorably discharged after a non-military accident.

Chris had an engaging personality as well as an art of expressing himself through letters to his family and close friends.  He enjoyed journaling for many years.  He loved sports of any kind and in his early years and through high school enjoyed playing softball, baseball, basketball, football, and track.  Everyone who knew Chris understood his love for UNC basketball.  He enjoyed watching and discussing the games, players, and coaching.

Chris is survived by his mother, Wanda Wallace of Carthage, brother, Daniel Kelly of Brookings, Oregon, sister Anna (Jeremy) White of Carthage; his beloved nieces who he called his Princesses, Ava, Addison and Jameson White, and his grandmother, Grace Kelly of the home.

A graveside service will be held at Yates Thagard Baptist Church cemetery in Whispering Pines, on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 10 am with Pastor Sammy Frye of Yates Thagard Baptist church officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan Colony, 136 Samaritan Drive, Rockingham, NC  28379.   Those wishing to honor the life of Chris are encouraged to attend a church service with an open heart.
