Clarence N. Pendleton III, 77, known to his family and friends as Pen, passed away at FirstHealth Hospice House on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. 

Born June 30, 1941 in Racine, Wisconsin. Pen worked for General Motors for 35 years. As he moved up the corporate ladder, Pen and his family lived in Indiana, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Michigan before retiring to Seven Lakes West, North Carolina in 1999.

In his retirement, Pen worked as a Starter/Ranger at Pinehurst Number 6. Pen loved playing golf. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on his deck listening to music, watching the birds and golfers. Pen was an avid reader, and movie enthusiast. He enjoyed watching his beloved Green Bay Packers. Pen’s greatest accomplishment was having 50 wonderful years of marriage to his loving wife, Judy and being able to enjoy all of the accomplishments of his three daughters and four grandchildren. 

Survivors include his oldest daughter, Patricia Pendleton; Heidi Pendleton and her children Brooke and AJ; Susan and her husband Kevin Cummings, and their children Max and Kyle; his brother Bob Pendleton and his wife Tulip; his sister Vicki Spang; and many more beloved extended family and friends. 

A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life, Saturday, November 3rd at 2pm, at West End Presbyterian Church, 275 Knox Lane, West End, NC 27376. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to First Health Hospice Foundation, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
