David A. Chestnut, 33, of Southern Pines, departed this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020,  at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic, Southern Pines. Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, we ask that donations are made to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org).
 
David Allyn Chestnut, known to his friends as “DC Smooth”, departed this life on November 11, 2020, at 33 years of age. David Allyn was born In Fayetteville, North Carolina on April 1, 1987, to David and Adele Chestnut.

David Allyn graduated from Pinecrest High School in 2005. He attended Central Carolina Community College where he studied TV & Radio Broadcasting. He later graduated from Sandhills Community College in 2015, with an Associate’s Degree in Communications. He received his EKG certification in 2017 and was most recently enrolled in Sterilization Processing. David Allyn was a lifelong learner, but the heart of his being was always music and entertainment.
