Dawson Hunter Maness, 16,  passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

Dawson was a native of Moore County and a student at North Moore High School.  He was a loving son and brother.   His family and friends were very important to him and he enjoyed time spent with them.  Dawson loved the outdoors and anytime spent outside was the best time for him.  Hunting and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes, especially sharing those times with his father and brother.  He hunted deer, doves, ducks and any body of water was a place to try out his fishing abilities.  He liked to fish at the beach but loved fishing on the lake at Tillery, Badin or Jordan.  Dawson would have been considered quiet to some folks but if the conversation was about fishing or hunting then he was ready to talk.  He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and ATVs with his friends. Dawson was preceded in death by grandfather: Monroe Maness

Dawson is survived by parents: Teddy and Rita Scott Maness; sister: Dana Maness; brother: Daniel Maness; grandparents:John and Louise Scott, Linda Maness; aunt: Rosanne Monroe; uncle: Travis Scott; many cousins and friends.
