Obituary for Dixie Lea Oliver

Dixie Lea Oliver, 85, passed away on November 30, 2025, at Peak Resources in Carthage.

Born on June 5, 1940, in Candor, North Carolina, to the late Clayton and Maude Parsons. Dixie worked as an Optician for over 38 years with Vision Center Inc..and later, Walmart Vision Center. She was a member of the Highland Trails Woman’s Club and a faithful member of Community Congregational Church where she served as a deacon. She enjoyed traveling and had some very special memories of trips throughout the world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnny Hall and her second husband, Jack Oliver; brother, Don Parsons and his wife, Martha.

She is survived by her children, Sonya “Rusty” Goldsmith, Jonathan Neill Reynolds Hall (Blair) and Cathy DeCicco; grandchildren, Sara Taylor Goldsmith, Kirsty Roberts, Lillian Hall, Nathan Hall, and Ashlyn Hall; also survived by one great-grandson, Elijah Gregory James Goldsmith and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
