Dorothy Allred Garner, 91, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, NC.
Dorothy was born April 26, 1931 to the late Dewey and Emily Bruce Allred. Dorothy was a free-hearted woman who would give you the shirt off her back. She loved gardening, cooking and her dog Sissy, but her real joy was her grandkids. Dorthy worked for many years at Asheboro Hosiery Mill and was a member of Acorn Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Garner; daughter: Sharon Cervantes; brothers: Felton Allred, Jerry Allred, Larry Allred, J D Allred, Merlin Edward “Red” Allred; sisters: Libby Garner, Joyce Davis, Evelyn King.
Dorothy is survived by granddaughter: Shannon Cervantes; grandsons: Fabian Perez, Chon Cervantes, Jr.; son in law: Chon Cervantes, Sr.; sister: Brenda Allred, brother: David Allred; 6 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be 4 PM, Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr John Williamson officiating.
