Dorothy Faircloth Clevenger obituary

Dorothy “Dot” Faircloth Clevenger, age 73, of Aberdeen, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. 

Dot was born on September 27, 1946 in Cumberland County, NC to the late James Wesley Faircloth and Virginia Dent Faircloth. She retired after many years of service with the NC Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer.  Dot was a loving and giving person who loved her three sons very much and she loved to share with others about how proud she was of them. 

She is survived by her three sons: James Edward “Eddie” Clevenger Jr. and wife Renatta of Aberdeen; Isaac “Wesley” Clevenger and wife Amy R. Chavis of Aberdeen; and Taylor Lee Clevenger and wife Lauren of Charlotte, NC.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and her siblings: James S. Faircloth, Margaret Clevenger, Sylvia Polston, Tommie Currie, Donald Faircloth, Hazel Jones and Betsy Faircloth.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Clevenger Sr. and her siblings: Nancy Edwards, Felton Faircloth and Joyce Hogg. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines and will be following Covid-19 guidelines.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 12 noon at Pinebluff Cemetery.
