Dorothy Smith Stephenson, age 91, of Aberdeen, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at her home, with her loving family by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Victory Baptist Church in Carthage at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at Victory Baptist Church following the service.
Dorothy was born in Benson, North Carolina on August 16, 1927 to the late Roy Edwin and Carrie Foote Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Hunter Stephenson and daughter, Anne Butcher. Dorothy’s achievements in life were numerous but she will be remembered as a woman of God who loved everyone and everyone loved her as well. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam Faircloth of Aberdeen, Kathryn Henderson of Ocean Isle Beach, Mary Whittington of Southern Pines and Hellen Williams of South Carolina; sisters, Juliette White of Georgia and Rebecca Owens of Goldsboro; grandchildren, John, Emily, Kelly, Chris, Ellie, Katie, Hunter, Zak, Renee, Charlie and Trevor; fifteen great-grandchildren.
