Dudley James Rector, 91 of West End, NC; passed on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 2PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 with service to follow at 2PM at the West End United Methodist Church in West End. Burial will follow in the West End Cemetery.
Mr. Rector was born November 29, 1926 in Lenoir, NC to the late Dudley James Rector, Sr. and Claire Piper Rector. He served in the US Army during WWII and was owner and operator of Fletchers BBQ a meat packing plant for many years. He was a member of the West End United Methodist Church and a charter member of the West End Volunteer Fire Dept. He served in the Masonic Lodge, Alberta Chapter #654 in West End for over 60 years in addition some of his happiest times was serving on the Pinecrest High School Board where he could share in the growth of his children.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Celia Luvina Fletcher Rector; A son, Thad Rector and wife Lynn of West End; A daughter, Teresa Wicker and husband James of Wilmington, NC; Four grandchildren, Shelly Wagner and husband Matt, Shelton Wicker, Josh Rector and wife Brittnie, Stephaine Ashley and husband Brent; Four great grandchildren, Riley and Walker Wagner and Chase and Coy Ashley.
Mr. Rector was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Presson.
