Edna G. Hull, 100, of West End, NC and formerly Riverside, CA, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

A 3rd generation native Californian, Edna was born in Bakersfield, CA on November 30, 1920 to Alonzo and Anna (Doyle) Freeman.  She grew up in the Antelope Valley area, graduated from Antelope Valley HS in Lancaster, CA, and in 1949 married David J. Hull, Jr.  They lived in Whittier and Riverside, CA while raising their two children.  Once the children were grown, Edna and David moved back to Lancaster.  After retiring, they returned to Riverside. Edna worked as a bookkeeper for many years, eventually retiring from the Palmdale School District in the late 1980s.  A few years after David’s passing in 2010, Edna moved to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter.  She always enjoyed playing cards with anyone who wanted to play, even teaching those who were willing to learn.  Through the years Edna also enjoyed line dancing and working on arts and crafts.  She was a 50+ year member of the CA Order of the Eastern Star, a Past Worthy Matron of both Sunshine Chapter 327 and Riverside Chapter 622, as well as a 1989 Deputy Grand Matron.

Edna was the wife of the late David Johnston Hull, Jr.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Marshall, husband Clark, of West End, NC, son, Larry Hull, wife Teri, of San Diego, CA and stepdaughter, Gloria Hatton, husband Dr. Ed Hatton, of Monterey, CA.  She is also survived by three grandchildren – Todd Pemble, Melissa Young, husband Jeff, and Craig Hull, wife Vanessa – and four great-grandchildren – Brett Young, Ashley Young, Elianna Hull, and Shane Hull.  Edna was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
