Elizabeth “Betsy” Simpson Spruill, age 59, of Vass, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, surrounded by her family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Vass from 6 until 8.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church with Pastor Raymond Campbell and Dr. Greg Poplin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Betsy was born in Pinehurst, North Carolina on October 27, 1959 to Earl Franklin and Ethel “Sue” Simpson. We can proudly say that Betsy made a lasting impression on everyone she met with her charm, which was only surpassed by the size of her heart. Her kindness and zest for life are what her family and friends will remember most. She enjoyed working in her flowers at home and church but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Spruill McKenzie and husband Cory of Carthage; parents, Earl Franklin and Ethel “Sue” Simpson; brother, Paul Simpson and wife Leanne of Vass; grandchildren, Sage Elizabeth McKenzie and Ayden Michael McKenzie and a host of friends.
