Eula Mae Monroe James, 97, died at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. A native of Moore County, she had lived the last seven years in Shelby, NC.

She was a faithful member of Elise Presbyterian Church in Robbins and The Eastern Star. She was retired from Moore County School Food Services.

The daughter of the late Thomas R. and Willa Mae Monroe of Robbins, NC, she was also preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) James, and brothers, Cloma and Charles Monroe.

Eula is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth (Lib) James Holleman and husband, Perry, and Dorothy James Atkins, both of Shelby, brother, Thomas L. Monroe and wife, Wilma, of Greensboro, NC and sister-in-law, Dot Monroe of Robbins, as well as 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 nieces and a nephew.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 22, 6:30 to 8:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Shelby, Dover Activities Building, Washington Street entrance and Saturday, June 23, 4:00 to 7:30 PM at her home in Robbins, NC.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Elise Presbyterian Church in Robbins, NC with Reverend Jon Neuhs and Reverend Perry Holleman officiating.
