Evelyn Barbara Grove, age 96, formerly of Aberdeen, NC, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Genesis-Siler City Center Nursing Home. Evelyn was born on September 22, 1923, in Freehold, New Jersey, to the late Aza and Caroline Bennett. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Grove of Aberdeen, NC; her daughter, Evelyn Barbara Sanders of Aberdeen, NC; sons Tony Grove and Casey Grove of New Jersey; brother Clifford Bennett and sister-in-law May Bennett of New Jersey; daughter-in-law Anna Grove of Pinebluff, NC; and granddaughter Mary Grove of New Jersey.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Grove of Pinebluff, NC; her grandchildren, Mike Sanders (Trice) of Florence, SC; Cindy Sanders of Sanford, NC; Carol Honeycutt (Earl) of Sanford, NC; Ashleigh Thomas (Matt) of Cameron, NC; Morgan Grove of Raleigh, NC; Richard Grove (Karen) of Florida; Michael Grove (Cathy) of New York; Dennis Grove (Linda) of Pennsylvania; and Laura Rothenhofer (Fred) of New Jersey. Evelyn was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A private burial will be held at Pinelawn Cemetery.
