Ezelle Byrd Garrison, age 84 of West End passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

Ezelle was born on February 22, 1934 in Hoke County, NC to the late Otha McKinley Byrd and Lucille Sheppard Byrd. She was a longtime member of Culdee Presbyterian Church.  Ezelle will be remembered for dedicating her life to family and service. She was a caring, giving soul who was quick to do for others. For many years, Ezelle organized and planned the children’s Christmas party at Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred Garrison of West End; two daughters: Debi Faircloth and husband Wade of West End and Linda Sessoms and partner Bruce Eskow of Fayetteville, NC; a son, Robert W. Garrison and wife Kathy of Greensboro, NC. She cherished her grandchildren very much, Matthew Sessoms, Rebekah Maples, Kolby Garrison and Kyleigh Garrison, and her great-grandchildren, Adyson Maples, Madelyn Maples and Lillian Sessoms. She is also survived by three sisters: Marie Morris of Raeford, NC, Irene Scott of Washington State and Sue Whitley of West End, NC and a brother, David Byrd and wife Joanne of Wilmington, NC.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Logan Garrison and Joshua Sessoms, a brother, Tony Byrd and a sister, Nancy Gawarecki.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Culdee Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jane Love and Rev. Jane Leechford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church fellowship hall.
