Gracie Pearl Crabtree, age 76, of Vass passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, with her family by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Open Arms Community Church in Vass at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Johnson Grove Cemetery.
Gracie was proudly born in Jackson County on January 4, 1943 to Claude Eugene and Bonnie Swanson Conner. She was a homemaker and also worked in the textile industry for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and sister who had a great sense of humor. Her sweet and friendly spirit will remain with those who loved her. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest Leon Crabtree; children, Gloria Crabtree (Tommy Pinkston) of Southern Pines, and Michael Crabtree of Vass; sisters, Cora Lee Shuler of Sylva, Eula Mae Kilby of Caney Fork, Bonnie Lee Brown of Carthage; brothers, James Ray Conner of Glenville, Billy Gene Conner of Heddy Mountain Community.
She was preceded in death by her parents Claude Eugene and Bonnie Swanson; sisters, Louise Conner and Elizabeth Patterson; brother, George Conner.
