Jack Gary, Jr, 88, died Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
He was born in Boykins, VA the son of the late Jack and Lila Hill Gary.
Jack was a very proud retired veteran of the US Air Force with over 20 years of service. After retirement Jack and his wife Sandy settled in Southern Pines where they both became active in the community and First Baptist Church where they sang in the sanctuary choir. Jack found great joy in working with children and the monthly Baptist Men’s Breakfast. He always greeted everyone with a big smile and a joyful spirit.
Surviving is his wife Sandy Gary, son Craig Gary, daughters Jobynia Caldwell (Phillip), Sasha Gary, Erika Boccio, stepson Isaac Durham and 9 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday March 8th at the First Baptist Church of Southern Pines with Dr. David Helms and Dr. Tom Allen officiating. A time of visiting will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment will be held at 12 Noon Monday March 9th at the Sandhills State Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors.
