Jack Darwin Williams, 89 of Anderson, SC, currently residing in Pinehurst, NC; left his earthly life on Wednesday May 9, 2018 surrounded by family.

Jack was born March 25, 1929 in Anderson, SC; the son of the late Thomas Evans and Emmie Whitfield Williams.  He was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Pendleton, SC.  He married Margie Griffin Williams on March 31, 1950.  Jack was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Papa, Uncle, Solider, and Friend. He was known for enjoying his time with his Family while boating, golfing, fishing, and hunting. He served 21 years in the US Air Force from 1947-1968 and retired in Charleston AFB, SC at the rank of TSGT.  He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Air Force longevity service award.   He also retired in 1984 from the US Army Corps of Engineers as a Senior Reservoir Ranger on Lake Hartwell, GA.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife Margie, his son, Marcus Darr Williams, his brothers, Revis Williams, Roy Williams, and Clyde Williams.

Jack is survived by his sister Lois Williams Gleason of Townville, SC, and two children and spouses: David & Sheila Williams of Pinehurst, NC and Tommy & Marva Kirk of Aberdeen, NC.  Eight grandchildren and spouses: Jaime & Rebecca Williams, Brad & Tracy Williams, Jeremy & Candace Williams, Aaron & Catherine Williams, Nathaniel & Mechele Kirk, Eric & Heather Hunt, Holly Kirk, David & Emiline Thaxton.  Twelve great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral Service and Honor Guard will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, 8220 Bragg Blvd, Fort Bragg, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
