Obituary for James Linwood Floyd, Jr. of Aberdeen

James Linwood Floyd, Jr. of Aberdeen, NC.

July 8, 1953 – August 9, 2022.

You are loved and missed.

In loving memory of a son, brother, cousin, National Guardsman, uncle, husband, father, great uncle, and friend.

Born in Lumberton, NC, he was in the National Guard and worked at Proctor-Silex in Southern Pines and Ingersoll-Rand. He was good with his hands and loved to fix things. He loved to help others in need and live quietly. He loved classic rock music, and The Who was his favorite group. He also loved to fish and watch Nascar, and motorsports.

Linwood is preceded in death by his father, James Linwood Floyd, Sr., mother Thelma Lee Cook, and niece Thelma Elizabeth “Liz” Caulk.

He is survived by his sister, Athenia Bledsoe, children Wesley, Sarah, Casondra, and Thomas Floyd, niece Windy (Coy) Brooks, nephew Robert “Buddy” (Glenda) Caulk, great nieces Alyssa (Sean) Happnie-Bums, Brooke and Abigail Caulk, best friend Danny (Jennifer) Cherry, and many cousins and friends. 

Visitation is in the care of Crumpler Funeral Horne in Aberdeen, NC, and will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

He will be buried beside his mother in New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton, NC.
