Jeffrey Filmore Broom, 53 of Pinebluff passed on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at his residence.  

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on 2pm, Sunday, January 5, 2019 at the Boles Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Jeff was born on May 15, 1966 in Cumberland County to Thomas Filmore Broom and Carol Sue (Schweikhart) Broom. Jeff was mostly known as a talented local musician, but to pay the bills he was a “Jack of all Trades” most recently working for Buchholtz Tool and Dye. He was a huge supporter of Donald Trump and he enjoyed debating his opinion on any and all political views, no matter the repercussions. He loved fishing as it gave him peace and joy. He loved staying connected through Facebook. Music was his soul and passion. As a child he played mostly the drums and bass guitar and was mainly self-taught. He eventually embraced the music world was taught by many and overtime became the teacher himself. Jeff loved to perform every year for the kids at the annual Pinecone Drop in Southern Pines for New Year’s Eve. His weekends were booked performing all throughout North Carolina and his fans would follow. Towards the end of his life he donated many instruments to local schools and churches in hopes to inspire a younger generation to become musicians. He will be remembered for his talents and compassion for his community. In memory of Jeff, “Don’t forget to Tip Your Local Musicians!”  

Jeff is survived by his mother, Carol S. Broom of Pinebluff; A sister, Natalie Coe and husband Michael of Carthage; A brother, Thomas Jackson of Boston, MA; His best friend   Mickey; Tony Laird, Zach Laird, Adam Cook and Joe Cook; Four great nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Filmore Broom.
