Obituary for Julian Patterson of West End

Julian “Travis” Patterson, age 24, of West End, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, April 26th, 2023. His family and friends, who loved him desperately, are deeply saddened by his sudden death.

Travis was born October 30, 1998, to Julie Ann Patterson in Pinehurst, North Carolina. In addition to his mother, Travis is survived by his grandparents, Myron and Judy Bosworth, and his sisters Autumn Bosworth, Amethyst Bosworth, and Amanda Bosworth.

In 2017, Travis graduated from Pinecrest High School where he played wide receiver and proudly wore #89 for the Pinecrest Patriots football team. A favorite pastime was watching and participating in a variety of sports. He especially enjoyed fishing and trips to the beach. Travis met some of his dearest, lifelong friends at Yates Thagard Baptist Church where he attended during his school years. He was currently doing electrical work alongside his mentor, Gus Popoca, with Sure Light Electrical Services.

Travis had an infectious smile and laugh. He loved fiercely and felt deeply. He was a people person who relished being with those he loved. He was athletic and enjoyed playing football, basketball, and frisbee, especially if the frisbee game was at the beach. Travis had a special talent for assembling items when no one else in the room was able to decipher the unhelpful picture instructions. He was a planner and an entrepreneur at heart. Travis had a knack for organizing Christmas lights yet never managed to pick his clothes up off the floor. Travis placed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Although he trusted Jesus, he had many struggles, difficulties, and challenges in life. As he searched for direction during the latter years, he kept his pain hidden behind his heart-melting smile. Nevertheless, God is faithful. By those who knew him, Travis will be forever treasured for the amazing, passionate, loyal, funny, handsome, courageous young man that he was.

The gift of Travis’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at 4:00pm at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church located at 3820 Vass-Carthage Rd, Carthage, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church from 3pm until 4pm. Burial will follow in Culdee Church Cemetery in West End.
