Katie Shepperd Garner, 91, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Anson Health and Rehabilitation, Wadesboro, NC, surrounded by her family.
Graveside Service will be 2:30 PM Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Browns Chapel Christian Church, with Reverend James Brewer officiating. Visitation will beginning at 1:00 PM at Kennedy Funeral Home.
Katie was born in Harnett County on December 8, 1927 to the late Willie and Annie Richardson Shepperd. She loved camping, traveling and cooking. Christmas dinners were especially meaningful to her. She was always up for neighbors and friends to come by for a visit. Katie was predeceased by her husband, Carthell Garner; daughters; Hannah McLean and Barbara Gail Hathcock, son: Jerry Garner.
Katie is survived by daughters: Pat Freeman, of Wadesboro, Sandra Fincher, of Texas; sons: Jimmy Williams, of Moncure James Graham, of Louisiana; step-daughter; Carolyn Hillard, of West End, 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
