Lillie Orlean Bray Alexander, 84, of Seven Lakes, NC passed away surrounded by family on August 10, 2018 at FirstHealth Hospice House. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Donald Wayne Alexander, 86, only 26 days earlier on July 15, 2018.

Lillie was born April 23, 1934 in Louisville, Arkansas to the late Lillie and William Bray. Donald was born April 16, 1932 in Holly Springs, Arkansas to the late Cleo and Emogene Alexander.

Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Cleo Alexander.

Donald proudly served in the US Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. Upon his return he attended the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1957 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He was employed by Union Carbide until his retirement in 1986, living in numerous places throughout his career before settling in Seven Lakes North. Donald was Scout Master for Troop #61 in East Brunswick, New Jersey for five years. He was also very active in the Elks Lodge in New Jersey. After his retirement to Seven Lakes he began selling real estate. It didn’t take long for Donald to realize selling real estate would eventually become a hobby and golf would become his true enjoyment.

Lillie was a school teacher for several years and taught home economics classes. Lillie also loved to play golf and was a member of the Carolina Seniors Golf Association. Donald and Lillie were both active members of the Chapel in the Pines where they served on numerous committees. They loved traveling together but above all else, they loved spending time with their family.

Lillie and Donald are survived by three children, Michael Alexander (Lisa), Marcus Alexander (Lisa), and Jeanne Spicer (Charles); Donald’s sister Frances Harrison (Sonny); four grandchildren Ashley (John), Charlie, Casey, and Layla; and one great-grandson, Wesley.

A memorial service for Lillie and Donald will be held on Saturday August 18, 2018 at 11 AM at the Chapel in the Pines of Seven Lakes, NC led by Pastor Paul James.
