Mary Berline Tyndall went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4th.  She was born March 24, 1934, in Tar Heel, North Carolina, a farming community in Bladen County.  She had a warm, magnetic personality and spread care and Christian love to everyone she met.

When Berline finished school, she came to work at the Pinecrest Inn in Pinehurst, where in 1958, she met the love of her life Maxie Tyndall who was in the service and home on leave for Christmas.  They dated for the whole time Maxie was home and communicated regularly after he returned overseas.  When Maxie returned home in August 1959, they continued to date and were married in Tar Heel on September 16, 1959. The birth of two daughters made their family complete and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage for almost 61 years.

The hearts of all who knew and loved Berline are broken though comforted in the knowledge her beautiful spirit communes with her Lord and Savior and the loving family members who preceded her in death including her mother Mamie Carroll Allen and father Jefferson Allen;  brothers William Simpson, Clifford, Charles (June) and Gurney Allen; niece Cindy Sanderson and great nephew Luke Allen.

Berline is survived by her loving husband Maxie Tyndall; daughters Janna (Charles) Fontaino; Susanne (Richard) Martinez ; a step-son Gary Tyndall; a brother Jim Allen and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and loving friends.

Because of the pandemic, services will be delayed.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date at Aberdeen  First Baptist Church.

To honor Berline’s memory, the family suggests donations to either the Alzheimer’s Association or FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care where Berline previously served as a volunteer.
