Obituary for Maylene Allred English of High Falls

Maylene Allred English, 88, of High Falls, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Maylene was born on May 21, 1933 to the late James Herbert and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Bruce Allred.  She was a  graduate of Westmoore High School and worked in the textile industry for over 45 years, many weeks working double shifts.   Maylene was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend.   She was devoted to her children and grandchildren.   The grandchildren have many precious memories of time spent with their grandmother.   A special place for Maylene was her front porch swing.  A faithful servant to her heavenly Father, who loved to read her Bible. Maylene enjoyed gardening and canning the vegetables to share with family and friends.   She also liked to grow beautiful flowers, especially roses.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 brothers.

Maylene is survived by her beloved children: William “Bill” Garner (Sandy), Debra Garner Stout, Kenneth Garner, Janet Romero.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren: Michael Scott, Kimberly McPherson (Chris), Sara Garner, Justin Romero, Kelly Garner, Jacob Romero; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. 

Graveside service at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 31, 2022, at Browns Chapel Christian Church, officiated by Reverend Shaun Garner and Reverend Robert Kidd.   

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross  Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374 or Browns Chapel Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 608 Browns Chapel Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
