Meghan Elyse Marie Haunert, 26, passed away suddenly the evening of January 23, 2019 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident occurring in Hoke county.

Meghan was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 4, 1992, to Donald Joseph Haunert and Vanessa Dale Brown Haunert. She was a graduate of Mt. Notre Dame high school class of 2010.
Anyone who knew Meghan, knew that she had an uncanny ability to put a smile on your face no matter the current circumstances you may be facing. Her pure determination to chase her dreams started when her parents put her up on a horse at early age.

Against all odds, with little pay, she set out to chase those dreams by moving to North Carolina after high school to live, work and learn on a horse farm. She since has gone on to help raise and care for many horses and was currently working on the Hassinger Farm as their barn manager. To her, caring and raising those horses was where you could always find her living her purpose.

The only thing that overshadowed her determination was her kind heart. Her intuition and willingness to listen with an open ear was something many of us will all miss. Meghan was someone who never knew a stranger and, along with her fiancé Jason, touched many, many lives in the Southern Pines community.

She is survived by her fiancée Jason Hines of Aberdeen, NC. Her parents Donald and Vanessa Haunert of Cincinnati, OH; brothers, Donald and Erich Haunert along with her sister-in-law Sheila Haunert of Raleigh, NC as well as her fiancé’s parents Sandra and Luke Hines.

Her playful spirit and infectious smile, she will leave behind with all of us.

A memorial service with Rev. Chad Nall officiating is planned for 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Boles Funeral Home – 425 W. Pennsylvania Ave, Southern Pines, NC 28387.

Services entrusted to Boles Funeral Home of Southern Pines.
